JazakiAllahu Khairan Sarah, may you and all of your loved ones be granted Jannat AlFirdous!
Some of you may have already read this, all I did was color it…

Okay so we went over this verse (25) in Surah Baqarah in AlHuda.
I just wanted to share the beginning part (underlined) of the verse’s word analysis with you InshaAllah ![]()
(if you want the rest of the word analysis, lemme know and I shall send it inshaAllah!)
[Say 'audhobillah + bismillah first
]
“And give glad tidings to those who believe in this book and do good deeds in accordance with its teachings that for them there will be gardens beneath which rivers flow.”
بَشِّرِ
Bashar – it comes from the root ba, sheen, ra which means good news, specifically human beings because of it’s skin. How? When you get good news, you feel it on your skin. It’s visible on their skin + face.
جَنَّـٰتٍ۬
Jannatin – comes from the root jeem, noon, noon, which means to hide, invisible. Keep in mind, Jinn is also from the same root! Now, why Jannah? Because Jannah is a garden or orchard whose ground cannot be seen. Why?
Because of so much vegetation or so many trees. It’s also hidden from us, and again, full of green.
This word in this ayah is plural. Why? Because there will be many gardens in Paradise, as well as many levels
Moving along…

تَجۡرِى
Tajree – comes from the root jeem, ra, ya, which means to flow with speed.
This is in reference to the river. Also, it’s saying
تَحۡتِهَا
Tahteeha – means underneath it.
Now, what’s that in reference to? That under Jannah will be something flowing. But what?
ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ
Al-anhaar – comes from the root noon ha ra, which means rivers, streams and to make ones way.
Okay so put that together and you get ‘gardens beneath which rivers flow. SubhanAllah amazing, eh?
Now get this. Scholars say this can happen in 2 ways.
1. The rivers are underneath the trees.
2. The rivers are under the command of the people of Jannah!
Interior decor anyone? You know how you change up your room after a while, or your closet?
Get this. In Jannah, you can CHANGE THE RIVERS! SubhanAllah. You say flow this way, or flow that way or flow like this.
Also, another way of understanding ‘gardnens beneath which rivers flow’ is that the people of Jannah will live in buildings/high houses underwhich rivers flow.. SubhanAllah!
You know those waterfront condos here in Windsor or in big cities like Toronto or New York? They ain’t got nothin’ on Jannah

So let’s put it together:
You’re inshaAllah a person of Jannah.
You’re living in a beautiful, beautiful garden that is lush, green, and abundant.
Your palace has the BEST view possible.
You have rivers of HONEY, MILK, and WINE.
They’re at your command…
What more could you ask for?
Alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen…
Wa Allahu ta’ala ‘alim.
If I’ve made a mistake, let me know inshaAllah
Work hard in this life and InshaAllah in Jannah, you’ll be livin’ the life

Again, jazakiAllahu Khairan Sarah!
Masha Allah i cannot get enough of this. Lol, i especially love the rivers one
